Topics covered in our intro and taster classes include Safety, The Shop Code Of Conduct, form and self care, the basics of hammer technique, materials management and flow, and much, much more! Classes will take place at the McMurry Blacksmith shop in rural Roberts Idaho. Read on for more!
(Note- Students under the age of 18 MUST be accompanied by a parent or guardian, who must also abide by all rules of conduct and safety while on the shop premises.)

NOTE: More classes will be added as the semester progresses, and individual training is available to those who show exceptional aptitude. Project based classes will be announced on a case by case basis. Prior to class, all students must sign a waiver and return it, or their class time may be delayed. Classes take place on weekdays only, outside of special circumstances, scheduled tasters, or individual instruction for gifted students.
Please remember, Blacksmithing can be dangerous, and as such, the shop CODE OF CONDUCT MUST be adhered to at all times within the shop walls. Anyone found to be acting in an unsafe manner intentionally will be asked to leave for their safety and those around them.
