B1 - Blacksmithing 1, INTRO TO BLACKSMITHING
(pre-reqs- n/a) - $600 {Members - $540}
Ages 16+, duration 16hrs (2 full day classes)
Learn the basics of blacksmithing. Students in B1 will learn the fundamental skills required to forge basic forms and shapes and understand blacksmithing tools and principles. Students will learn tapering, upsetting, flattening and planishing, dishing, bending, punching and cutting of hot steel in a propane forge. Projects may include spoons, eating knives, forks, hooks, etc. depending on student aptitude.
Please remember, Blacksmithing can be dangerous, and as such, the shop CODE OF CONDUCT MUST be adhered to at all times within the shop walls. Anyone found to be acting in an unsafe manner intentionally will be asked to leave for their safety and those around them.
