This is a BBQ set I made between pans as a mind cleanser. Two pieces, spoon and spatula. Forged at the anvil, filed in the vise. One continuous piece of steel. No welds or joints of any kind. The plate and bowl masses were upset, forged out, cleaned up, and then hammer polished over several heats. After cleanup, lots of filework to get that nice, smooth, glossy surface for the wax finish to shine up and seal.
The smooth finish catches the light, and the round cross section handle feels good in the hand. Glossy black waxed steel, food safe finish. Lots of fiddly bench work and heavy work at the anvil in this one.
Good size plate and bowl, with pour spout of the ladle for pouring sauces and such over the fire. Long reach to keep your knuckles out of the heat.
