This is a spatula I made between pans as a mind cleanser. Large plate! Forged at the anvil, filed in the vise. Features an upset mass in the middle representing a gear cluster from motorsports heritage. One continuous piece of steel. No welds or joints of any kind. The central mass was upset to the diameter, then cleaned up and hammer polished over several heats. After cleanup, lots of filework to get that nice, smooth, glossy surface for the wax finish to shine up and seal.

The smooth finish catches the light, and the larger than normal spatula plate is very handy. Glossy brassed steel, medium sized collar/mass upset in the middle. Lots of fiddly bench work and heavy work at the anvil in this one.
