This is a fork I made between pans as a mind cleanser. Two tines. Forged at the anvil, filed in the vise. One continuous piece of steel. No welds or joints of any kind. The central mass was upset to the diameter, then cleaned up and hammer polished over several heats. After cleanup, lots of filework to get that nice, smooth, glossy surface for the wax finish to shine up and seal.
The smooth finish catches the light, and the faceted handle feels good in the hand.. Glossy brassed steel, small sized collar/mass upset in the middle. Lots of fiddly bench work and heavy work at the anvil in this one.
